I loved it, I am planning on re-reading this book several times, if not forever. She is honest and straightforward , she doesn't try to impress the reader with fancy, and complicated nutritional terms, or tries to push her believes down to anyone's throat. -Dee, WrappedUpInReading

Yes, you can have your wine and still lose weight! As a vegetarian for many years, I was excited to read this witty but very informative book that seemed right up my alley. If you have been looking for an easy, very down-to-earth way to eat healthier and maybe lose some weight in the process, then this book is a must-read. Filled with THE yummiest, easiest recipes, 'WTF Am I Supposed to Eat?' offers a common-sense, practical approach to a more delicious and healthier way of life.I hate to use the word "diet" but trust me, you will definitely lose weight by following even just a few of the fantastic tips in this book. I have followed a modified version of the food plans in this book for most of my adult life and have maintained the same weight for many years. You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to read this book but if you have been thinking about it, this book will give you the background and the confidence boost to try.
I loved this book because not only does the author explain why certain foods are good for you, she gives you super-easy recipes that are quick and satisfying. I also love her philosophy that everything is okay in moderation. You love red wine? It's okay! You can still keep your wine but also eat healthy the rest of the time (although I think a glass of red wine is good for everyone!) I also appreciated the variety of foods and the philosophy that not every diet plan is perfect for everybody,
Find what's right for you and you will be more likely to stick with it, not as a "diet" but as a way of life. And you will feel better, too! I am looking forward to getting this book in paperback to give as gifts and for my own kitchen.

I honestly cannot believe how fast I read this! Dieting books aren't exactly my thing. I love alllll the foods!! Yet, I couldn't stop reading it because for one, it's hilariously witty. I laughed so much during this read it's a sin. She has such a way with words. Secondly, everything she's saying is broken down and supported with some factual ass s***. Most of it is basic information that you already kind of know just in more depth so you understand it better. All that information you keep locked up in the back of your mind when you're eating because well, who wants to think about this stuff when you're scarfing down pizza? Not me! But it's good to remember and I'd highly recommend highlighting so many things or keeping a notepad handy to take notes because she basically tells you to figure out what's best for you. She doesn't tell you to work out or eat this or that or how much.. just to listen to your own body. Mainly, drink wine(hello? That's a winner right there) SOLD! , green tea, and eat more plants! She does throw in some recipes at the end and they're all things I'd actually eat. I'm definitely going to be trying them out!
I can't think of a better guide or nonfiction book in this genre that tells it like it is. WTF am I Supposed to Eat by C.J. English is one brilliant book. Her writing is clear, precise, and informative. She clearly provides the content readers need to know as well as the perspective on both sides of the issue. With so many telling us what is good to eat and what isn't, it's better to hear it from someone who has tried it all and experimented in finding what works. Researched and personally lived, C.J. English shows readers what to eat and what not to eat. I found this book of hers to be refreshing. It is written in a way that engages the audience. I want to know more. C.J. English starts off by what her book is and isn't. She then dips into the bad and good. Next, she had me exploring every page. A guided tour and recipes inside...I couldn't believe how much was written and provided to me. This is definitely a great book that everyone needs to read. The content had factual information backing it up...and this inspired me even further. I want to eat healthy and loose weight. It's difficult and over whelming to search through all the stuff that's out there on the market. However, with WTF am I Supposed to Eat, I can easily weave through everything. Educational and well-told. Overall, I highly recommend it to all.
They say things happen for a reason and all I can say is that this book could not have arrived at a better time for me. Week 2 out of 6 of wearing a moon boot and I was terrified at how much weight I was going to gain whilst being immobile. I was thinking of how I was going to modify my diet to minimise the inevitable weight gain coming my way.
Weight loss and nutrition are always hot topics and there is a new diet or miracle weight loss solution that we are being bombarded with on a daily basis - so what makes this book different. Well because it's not a diet or a fad, it's not a magic bullet - it's a way of life and the degree to which you apply it is how much sustained weight loss you will achieve.
WTF am I supposed to eat was a very inspirational and informative read for me. I loved the conversational tone and the simplicity in which the facts were presented. I have a greater understand of the humble calorie and how your body uses it depending on what type of calorie it is.
It brought about a lot of self awareness and I've discovered what I have been doing wrong all these years. Effectively self sabotaging without even realising I was doing it.
There are some great recipes in the book as well that are simple and easy to introduce into your meal plan rotation.
If you're looking for something completely different in amongst the plethora of diet and nutrition books you need to give this book a chance. You'll be very pleasantly surprised and I believe that there is something that will resonate with every reader.
Thank you Ms English and I wish you every success with this book because it is certainly well deserved.
